Serotiny, painting by Jess Wilson
‘Serotiny’: The ecological adaptation whereby seed release occurs in response to an environmental trigger, most commonly fire.
Certain trees actually need fire to release their seeds, ultimately bringing new life out of what appears to be devastation.
Q. Are there seeds of hope or new life that you can see emerging from this challenging season?
